Farm Bill Biologists
The IL Farm Bill Biologist Program is a partnership between the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Natural Resource Conservation Service, Wildlife Conservation Society and our local Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever Chapters.
Farm Bill Biologists work in a handful of counties and take a proactive approach to promoting habitat and conservation on private lands.
- Landowner Forums - FBBs will bring together wildlife, habitat and program experts to explain conservation opportunities to interested landowners.
- Habitat Workshops - bring area landowners onto successful habitat projects and explain how they could incorporate them on their lands. Also learn about important management considerations and techniques.
- Individual Site Visits - visit with an interested landowner on the ground rather than in an office so that programs can be tailor fit to their project.
- Technical Assistance - working closely with local USDA offices the FBBs can help with planning, contracts and other paperwork necessary to put habitat on the ground.
